The Event
I feel it’s important to include a snapshot of a ticket or invitation as part of the event’s photographic collectiion. It’s a reminder of the location, date and time. For this event it is the ticket into the prom. I paired it with the corsage
Group of Ten
As I was scouting the shoot location I was trying to figure out how I could pose 10 people in a group shot and be interesting. I decided on this composition. I stood on the front stairway looking down and staggered their position. Compositionally I needed them in the shade where the light isnt as harsh and positioned the bright colours up front as the focal poiint.
Flower Time
Typically corsages are kept in the fridge to keep them fresh and taken out to warm up to room temperature. Here they were just taken out of the fridge. Corsages were from a local florist Oleander
Framing the Red White and Blue
When I scouted for angles I thought this would nicely frame the subjects on the sofa. I shot through the evergreen foliage and together with the leaves up top provided a nice organic frame for these graduates
Corsage
“ Belle”
As our pets are a huge part of thre family I will always try to include them as I capture the activites of the event . Here this cutie was patiently waiting and watching as food was being laid out LOL.
The Line Up
This was not my idea. The boys did this on their own. I asked them to get closer together to get them all in frame - guess that was funny LOL. Made for a great moment!

Storyteller
In my effort to make the kids more comfortable with a camera always being present during the event I’m shooting I will ask them questions eg “ tell me about ….. “ Once warmed up and more of their friends arrive they don’t seem to notice me as much as I’m clicking away which will allow for more candid moments.☺️
Matched in Red
How smart was he to colour cordinate his tie with his dates’s dress.? That coordination makes for a well balanced photo! Apparently it wasn’t him at all but my niece his older sister who was the smart one LOL
A & O
Triple Blue
A corsage photo was on the list of “must-take” photos. Love rhe red / green colour contrast here
In Between Takes
Love finding and shooting these candid moments between friends. We were waiting for others to come out and I have no idea what they were talking about. This photo invites you to wonder amd thats what I like about capturing candid moments like this.
The Twin Glance
After 18 yesrs I am finally able to identufy who is who . LOL. Can you blame me , even their side eye is the same !
Afternoon Huddle
Proud Moms and their Sons
This worked out rather well in terms of colour scheme amd it wasn’t planned. Everyone was colour coordinated !in various shades of blue and white. Even the moms in pink had similar pink tones which made it easier to posiiton and compose the photo.
